
Naseeruddin Shah
Born on 20 July 1950 in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, Shah started his filmy journey in 1975 with Nishant. Despite a popular star cast, Naseer managed to grab eyeballs with his performance in the film. Shah starred in films like Mirch Masala, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Masoom, Ijaazat, A Wednesday, The Dirty Picture, 7 Khoon Maaf and others. His international projects include Monsoon Wedding (2001) and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), where he shared his screen space with Hollywood actor Sean Connery.
From supporting characters to the main lead, from an old man to a stylish villain, Naseeruddin Shah has innumerable memorable characters to his credit. He became active in mainstream Bollywood cinema with the 1980 film Hum Paanch. His next major success in mainstream films was the 1986 multi-starrer film Karma where he acted alongside veteran Dilip Kumar.
It’s only him who worked in serious issue based films like ‘Aakrosh’, ‘Sparsh’ and ‘Mirch Masala, but he can also manage to make groove in the thrills like ‘Oye Oye’ in ‘Tridev’ and ‘Oh Lala’ in ‘The Dirty Picture’.
Naseeruddin Shah proved his mettle as an actor with films like ‘Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Ata Hai’, ‘Trikal’, ‘Bhavni Bhavai’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Mandi’, ‘Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho’, ‘Ardh Satya’, ‘Katha’ and ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’.
